Joanna Gocłowska-Bolek is an expert in Latin American and the Caribbean (LAC) affairs as well as the EU-Latin America and the Caribbean relations. Since April 2020 she is Deputy Director of the Centre for Political Analysis and Security Studies of the University of Warsaw, Poland. In 2016 she graduated from the European Academy of Diplomacy (Diploma on: Advanced Diplomatic Skills).
She holds Ph.D. in Economics. She does her research in International Economics, Developing Countries and Development Economics, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean, at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw, Poland. Her current projects are “Latin America and the Caribbean in the search of a new development strategy” and “Innovation policies in the EU and LAC countries. Comparative analysis”.
She is an experienced academic researcher and teacher; since 2001 works at the University of Warsaw: 2001-2005 at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, since 2006 at the Center for Latin American Studies CESLA; since 2018 at the Center for Political Analysis as expert and researcher. She chaired the Center for Latin American Studies CESLA, the University of Warsaw (2012-2016) and was a Member of the Board of the European Council for Social Studies of Latin America / Comisión Directiva del Consejo de Investigaciónes Sociales de América Latina CEISAL (2013-2016). Regularly she has given lectures at foreign universities and diplomatic academies, in many leading centers in Europe and Latin America.
Joanna Gocłowska-Bolek is an author of numerous publications on Latin American and the Caribbean affairs, economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean and economic relations between LAC and European countries.
She enjoys long-term practice in academic and non-academic fields of expertise, with good mentoring skills and extensive experience in discourse training for professional purposes in intercultural organizational environments.
